About Me

William Tompkins
William is a theoretical physicist, a specialist in the theory of relativity. He, step by step, scrupulously, but entertaining and accessible, tells readers about the origins and formation of the ideas of many scientists, shows their struggle with established ideas. He also describes the difficult path of introducing these ideas into the heads of physicists and philosophers and the significance of these ideas for our time. The articles present an unusual view of William, who is himself a scientist, on life, and scientific achievements, for example, Albert Einstein. This is an attempt to recreate the path that Einstein took to his discoveries. His articles engage readers around the world in thinking about the philosophical implications of Einstein's ideas.
